HAPPINESS IS KHUSHI
An education academy which develops effective structured programs and courses with top of the ladder trainers who are passionate and dedicated to the cause on different areas for children/teenagars/adults, parents and educators to support and raise aspirations for persons with Down Syndrome, Autism, Learning Disabilities and other developmental delays.
FOUNDER
I, Tejal Shah, am a proud mother, speaker at the United Nations (UN) and a Certified Special Educator. I have Founded / Co-founded various successful initiatives including:
- Founder of Bangalore Humsafar
- Happiness is Khushi
- Co-founder of SAARTHI Academy of Learning
- Founder of the first Online certificate course on communication skills, Ganith & Science which is one of its kind in the entire globe.
I was invited to be a speaker on 21st March 2021 with the Permanent Mission of India at the Virtual event of the United Nations Office Geneva. In September 2021, I was declared the winner of India 5000 Women’s Achievers Award 2021.
In 2020, I was nominated by the Karnataka State Commissioner for a National Award in the category of “Best individual working for the cause of Intellectual Disability”.
I am honoured with:
- TorchBearer of DSFI 2021
- The Best Educator award by DSFI in Dec 2020
- An Excellence Award by IRC in 2019 for contributing towards the cause of Down syndrome and for establishing a course on Down syndrome for the first time in India. This is accessible worldwide from the year 2020 and has participants from different parts of the world..
Since 2018, I am instrumental in organising free health check-up camps (with medical experts/ hospitals) for children with Down syndrome online and offline. I have been tirelessly working with children diagnosed with autism, down syndrome, learning disability and various developmental delays since 2017.
I am guiding and leading a team of special educators, teachers, parents and professionals who are from different countries in developing case studies. I have conducted numerous international webinars on various subjects to benefit parents and professionals working with children with special needs. Recently,I have started a YouTube Channel named “Happiness is Khushi” which aims at raising aspirations for people with Down syndrome and other developmental delays.
Down Syndrome Federation of India (DSFI) has acknowledged me for developing an Educational tool kit which is considered as an important resource for the overall development of any child.
